APER is inspired by Nikos and Giorgos, two mechanical engineers with over a decade of experience in the bicycle industry. As avid engineers and enduro riders ourselves, we have a deep understanding of how a bike should perform to conquer rough terrain.
Our passion for mountain biking and love of the sport drives everything we do. We know what it takes to tackle challenging terrain and push the limits of what’s possible on two wheels. That’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to creating the ultimate enduro mountain bike – one that delivers unbeatable performance, precision, and durability.
Our story begins with Nikos’ thesis project at the Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering Department of Patras University. Nikos had a vision of creating a unique system for downhill biking that would optimize traction and efficiency on rough terrain. The thesis was delivered, but the story did not end along with the university. Nikos, determined to create a product that would revolutionize the mountain biking industry, kept on developing and refining this technology.
Years later, Giorgos saw the potential in Nikos’ technology and encouraged him to adapt it for use on an enduro mountain bike. Together, they worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life, combining Nikos’ innovative system with the latest technologies and the highest quality materials. As the company’s needs grew, they were joined by Christos, Giorgos P and Kostas, who shared their vision and commitment to excellence, hence creating their first product, the so-called APER KOMPace.

The roots of APER
Embracing the Wild Within
APER Bikes is a high-end bicycle manufacturer, nestled in the city of Patras, Greece. Patras is surrounded by the legendary mountains of Erymanthus, which are known for their treacherous and rugged terrain. It is only by riding on these mountains that one can truly appreciate the need for a purpose-built bike that can conquer any challenge thrown its way.
The APER in Latin is the wild boar
The wild boar of Erymanthus in mythology symbolized the untamed, wild nature that surrounded the people of ancient Greece. For Nikos and Giorgos, this symbol represents the thrill and excitement of mountain biking – the rush of adrenaline that comes with riding on untamed trails and pushing oneself to new limits.
